10.10.1 Viewing a Block of Cells

Depending on the options selected this option displays on the screen all matrix cell values from a “block” covering approximately 30 rows (down the screen) and 6 columns (across the screen).

Within this display it is possible to “move around” within the matrix by using the various options in the control bar at the top of the screen; e.g., “Down” moves the display down through 30 rows, “Right” moves 6 columns to the right, etc. etc. Note that “Home” returns the display to the upper left-hand corner - row 1, column 1 –while “End” moves to the bottom left.

If the matrix contains levels and/or blocks it is possible to “jump” to an adjacent level or block using the commands Level_+, Level_-, Block_Right and Block_Left (as opposed to the existing “Up”, “Down” etc. navigation buttons that move the display up or down by one screen).

(It may also be possible to affect some of the same operations by using the keyboard so that Alt+R moves to the right but this is a largely historical usage which (a) may not work and (b) does not cover all the options.).

The above options all move the “upper left hand corner” of the display. Alternatively the cell in the upper left hand corner may be explicitly set via a “location sub-menu” in the calling menu.

If the area currently on screen includes the “bottom” and/or the “right hand side” of the matrix column and/or row sums will be included (space permitting).  Equally the total of all cells appears in the extreme lower right hand corner.  Options are provided such that the row and column totals always appear on the screen display.

Mode

Two format “modes” are provided: the default prints all cells with two decimal places, the alternative prints integers (and, because each column is narrower, more columns are printed at a time).  Clicking “Mode” in the control bar toggles between them or, alternatively, the choice may be made within the “Options Sub-Menu” as called from the main Print menu.
